The duo began in 1999 when Bernie and Matt met while attending West Chester University. With similar tastes in music while also both playing guitar, they spent many Saturday nights jamming for friends and thus, The Shady Groove Duo was born. After 26 years, they continue writing, playing and performing throughout the Montco, Chesco, Bucks and Philly areas. In addition to their original tunes, Shady Groove's repertoire covers nearly all styles of popular music spanning from the 1950s through today (classic rock, country, reggae, surf, blues, folk, bluegrass). When they aren't playing a wedding, cocktail hour or private party, you can catch the duo every other Thursday at Autograph Brasserie in Wayne or one of their monthly bar/restaurant gigs.
